Windows Vista low down

My 2 cents isn't probably even worth that but I have been using vista for over a month now
and have found it great
Vista was def designed for people with wide screen lcds..
i only have 1 gig of ram , but vista is hungry for more...however i am not putting out until i get a new mobo and cpu
some of the icons have moved around but its all still there

Pros, looks fantasic on a widescreen lcd, its windows xp with a linux cosmetic facelift
It boots quickly even on 1 gig ram
Sata hdd support off the bat
Games wise they are all working..battlefield 2 chugs a little more than xp but i think this is because of vistas higher demand for ram

Cons:
Memory hog?? ..Defineltely needs 2 gigs of ram... if your buying a new computer make sure...

I get a bluescreen occasionally when remoting into my computer ..there are still some bugs obviously

The movie thumbnail creator is a pain in the butt... i got rid of the reg key in xp which does this...now to find in vista

Drivers are still being fine tuned...

Requires new software versions...all the basic software you were using, like antivirus, burning, virtual drive , movie editing needed new versions

----------------
When i eventually get a new computer i will be installing the 64 bit version

B grade movie alert

Darkstar, the classic john carpenter movie appeared..
i have it on vhs in storage, so this is welcome viewing

TV shows to watch

A new Australian tv series called Sea Patrol has appeared on the net in a few places..
I'm so glad as this is the only way I was going to be able to see it...looks like I've seen it a bit earlier than expected?

I've seen the first 3 episodes which were leaked and it is very good
reminds me a lot of Patrol Boat from the 80's

In the latest Man vs Wild , Bear is inserted into outback australia and acting crazy as usual, he dranks piss and eats tasty spiders.Go Bear..you are one extreme bastard...

iphone is out

big f$%king deal
reasons why it won't do well
1)too expensive iphone
2)too expensive (monthly rates)
3)same battery issues..eg not easily replaceable..
4)cannot add microsd memory cards...wtf???
5)It runs OSX..lol...which can't really run anything else beside apple crap..
exta points
6)apple think they are great at designing interfaces.. but ...they really suck

My opinon
If you want something with a touch screen buy a ds
Throw away your cell phone...they have no purpose

TVshows to download

Man vs Wild is back on discovery..S2...
This show is cool.. and Bear Grylls...if thats how you spell his name..is crazy
the last one where he was in copper canyon mexico was one of the better ones i've seen
keep it up bear...and don't get killed doing something stupid .lol

2cents worth ..the new apple products

omg.. apple are a bunch of retards..why would you call this thing an iphone.
please something original apple phone aphone anything but ishit
Anyways i think this phone is for people that like to pay $600 for a ps3
here in canada it will probably be around $600
But since people pay that for blackberrys...anyway
I wont be buying this crap for sure
because
- you can't easily replace the battery
and apple screwed me with my ipod mini (which is now sitting permanately in a dockable radio.
- you ve got to run itunes to play music
thats the worst application ever, unless your a mac fan boy
- its essentially a pda
(they already exist and will get cheaper (thanks apple)
- it runs osx
that means they will release like 10 games for it over 10 years
(those games will probably be ported from existing mac games (which are mostly widgets)
- people dont want all in one products
thats my opinion
- people already have 3 phones each
- Muggings will go up

Conclusion - Who is willing to pay so much for a new phone...mac lovers...and rich kids

Long live the ds!

Xplio 1090de review (repost)

I see alot of people coming to see about the xplio 1090de review so here it is..

It looks like its now on sale for $479 for just the tower?? You cheap bastards...just joking I should buy one 2...

Here's the old review

-----------
Xplio 1090DE Desktop Computer
pentium D 805
512meg 333mhz ram (looks like they upgraded the ram to 533 instead of 333)
200 gig hdd (looks like they upgraded the HD to 250 gigs)
ati onboard video card x200 ?

http://www.staples.ca/FRA/Catalog/cat_sku.asp?CatIds=&webid=652712&affixedcode=WW

Good things about it
Dual core 805d which can be overclocked (maybe not on this board)
onboard ati radeon (well better than intel extreme graphics, at least you could play 3d shit out of the box) will do until you get some money

Cons
----
Only 512 meg ram! (which was 333mhz)
256 of this ram is shared with video so techincally its only 256 megs
(you should buy an extra 1 gig stick straight away (not from staples/b en gros)

Overall
------------
Basic dual core computer , possibly overclockable ..you can bump up the fsb of the 805b without much trouble,(depends alot on the motherboard)
Things to upgrade when you have more money
RAM
Video Card

Recommeded if you are looking for a new basic computer to replace your p3 450
